With just one week left until Valentine’s Day, you should get your shopping done soon! At studiocromie you can buy a set of three prints by SAM3, each of which was used to create this animation:
The black element was screenprinted, the red was hand-drawn on each print. Is 220 Euros too much to spend on that special someone?

Does this peculiar holiday greeting from Ad Reinhardt provide a glimpse into the artist’s family life? This is one of many homemade cards from an exhibit at the Smithsonian’s Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture, some of which are featured in a Smithsonian.com slideshow.

Do you need a last-minute costume? Print to the rescue! I picked up this printed stocking mask at the local pharmacy for $2.99:

Scary! The only flaw is that the mask is printed on both sides, presumably to simplify the manufacturing process. So you end up with a face on the back of your head:

Also, use a mirror to align the mask with your facial features. Happy Hallowe’en!

From Tugboat Printshop:

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL
Color Woodcut Print by Paul Roden + Valerie Lueth, 2009.
I had the pleasure of seeing this beauty just last night! More on that later. Meanwhile, check out the fireworks at the Tugboat Printshop website, and some in-process views at the shop’s Flickr page.
Happy Independence Day!

So you came here expecting some hilarious April Fool’s Day gag, right? WRONG! Personally, I don’t abide by such tomfoolery.
But if you like to be a complete jerk for no apparent reason, maybe you’d enjoy some family-style printable pranks!

Ha ha! Sneezes! Classic! But wait, there’s more! Boy oh boy, what a hoot!

Guinntiques has a biography of John Gilroy (of the famed Guinness posters).
Raise a glass to St. Patrick, who drove the snakes from Ireland, cried green beer, and invented the potato print.

Today would be Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday, if he hadn’t been shot by that knave Booth. ‘Twas not to be, and so we mark the occasion in black & white:

Lincoln linocut by Jose Pulido, eight dollars!
