NFS: Printmakers Reject and Reclaim the Marketplace

The MAPC conference panel, NFS: Printmakers Reject and Reclaim the Marketplace, was moderated by Nathan Meltz and included panelists Tim Dooley and Aaron Wilson of Midwest Pressed, as well as Tonja Torgerson. This panel presented alternative approaches to printmaking and exhibiting. Topics ranged from video, animation, street art, and alternative exhibition spaces to print as social practice and the concepts behind art valuation.

Nathan shared his experiences showing his animations at film festivals.

Tim and Aaron discussed setting up a shop, their experiences as visiting artists, and the value of their screen printed t-shirts versus works on paper.

Tonja talked about several street art collaborations with Joel Weissman, like this mobile screen-printing station attached to her bicycle.
