Vinyl Print Shrine in Kansas City

It’s not uncommon to find some kind of printmaking shrine in a printshop but some take it farther than others. This vinyl print pyramid is by Kansas City Art Institute student Jandro Montero who was invited by print instructor Doug Baker to design something for a wall near the KCAI printshop. Montero designed the piece in Adobe Illustrator and used the department’s 24″ vinyl cutter produce it. The mural will stand as a masonic testament to printmaking’s occult-like power until sometime in late November when new artwork will go up. A tough act to follow.
