Studio Visit: University of Minnesota Duluth
No, the print studios at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMND) don’t have buffalo and moose heads mounted on the wall above the graining sink (they are down the hall in the science building), but a person can always dream of a stranger future.
On a recent visit to Duluth, UMND School of Fine Arts‘s Department of Art & Design, this Printeresting contributor was lucky enough to spend some time meeting with students and faculty, and checking out the print studio. The first thing you notice in the UMND print studio is the bright nordic light streaming in through the wall of windows; secondly, it’s spacious, and shockingly clean. I had to summarize the design ethos: functional minimalism, with a sense of humor.
