H1N1 Graphics: The Fairey-Meme Lives on.

It was only a matter of time before the most powerful graphic meme of recent times was dusted off and brought out of the closet for one more public service announcement. For better or worse, I give you the H1N1 graphics inspired by the Obamagraphics movement.

This is by the Belgium artist Ben Heine, clearly inspired by Shepard Fairey.

This poster was hung all over the the University of Wisconsin, Madison and quickly wound-up posted on Boing Boing. Thanks to Deepa Swanson for alerting us.

This one is from Porkopolis, a porcine-centered blog and was made with the help of the Obamaconme website (a Paste Magazine side-project) that allows anyone to rip off Shepard Fairey’s graphic design work.. hey, maybe the AP should sue them too?

On a side note, They also have a sister site called Iraniconme which allows anyone to make a meaningless poster using the graphic language inspired by the recent Iranian protest movement. At least the the protesters who are now standing trial in Iran for exercising their political freedom won’t have sacrificed in vain.
