Subterranean House (Oonce Oonce)

Subterranean House (Oonce Oonce) is a video by artist Michael Bell-Smith. For those who don’t know, “oonce” is an onomatopoeia that refers to the sound of a techno beat. While it’s unlikely that he’s interested in making a direct reference to print, there is something about the mind-numbing repetition of a stripped-down dance music accompanied by identical cue cards that make the piece at least tangentially print-related. Click on the pic for a link to the actual video. On a side note, I kind of love seeing Dylan hacked into a droning, monotonous rhythm. Oh, and make sure your volume isn’t too high before clicking on the link.
